Before there was Hastings-Parrish Knives it was Hastings Knives. Hastings Knives at first were produced solely by Don Hastings. Don developed the line of models that are on this website by trial and error. He sought out the advice of hunters and sportsmen. This advise he incorporated into the hunting models that you will find on the website. He did the same thing with the fighting models, by seeking out the advise from soldiers and others that had knowledge in the use of fighting knives. The large Bowies are based on old designs that have been around for many years. 

     Hastings-Parrish Knives was formed after Don went to be with his Lord in 1986. Don had talked to Jean and I about me buying out the shop from Jean, after he passed away. This is what he wanted. I bought the shop, materials, and name from Jean. A few years later I had to close the shop for personal reasons. My son and I have now built a new log shop. Hasting-Parrish Knives are now being built once again. My son Kayne is artistic and is doing the handle work under my quality control. I am doing the rest of the knife myself. We hope you enjoy this website. You will find our knives are of the same quality as Don’s were. “Guaranteed”
